Montañeses

Orizaba's football did not go quiet when Albinegros de Orizaba folded; it moved into a new shell. Fuertes de Fortín had just won the Tercera División de México when its franchise was sold to a group of Orizaba businessmen, and the Mexican Football Federation made them drop the old Albinegros name before the club could take the field. What survived the paperwork was the colour scheme: white and black, the Albinegro identity, carried over into the new badge of Montañeses Fútbol Club.

The club was registered on 22 July 2021 and started play in the Liga Premier Serie A that September. Orizaba's supporters, known locally as the Caramelo crowd after the city's coffee and caramel trade, transferred their allegiance to the new team — the shirt had changed its name, not its colours.

Home games are played at Estadio Socum, holding 7,000 people, with the away kit breaking from the club's black and white with a streak of red. Los Montañeses , as the team is known, have yet to add a trophy to that inheritance.
