Racing Porto Palmeiras

The Estadio Gustavo Pacheco Villaseñor is built for 25,000 but currently opens only 15,000 seats, and Racing de Veracruz only started playing there in August 2026, after the state government shut the club out of Unidad Deportiva Hugo Sánchez over structural safety concerns tied to a fatal clash between Racing and Celaya fans in February that year. With the city's main ground handed to the newly formed Piratas F.C., the club packed up for San Juan Bautista Tuxtepec, in Oaxaca.

The club grew out of Centro de Formación Palmitas, a youth academy opened in July 2021 and renamed Porto Palmeiras a year later. In April 2023 the Qatari conglomerate Racing City Group turned the academy into a professional side, Racing Fútbol Club Porto Palmeiras, which joined the Liga Premier Serie A that June and played its first match in August, Fabrizio Díaz scoring the club's first goal on 12 August 2023. The partnership lasted barely a year: in June 2024 the club cut ties with its Qatari backers, passed into the hands of a local group, Racing Sports Holding, tied to Maclovio Yáñez, and restyled itself Racing de Veracruz.

Within months the club, now nicknamed The Purple Monster for its purple colours, beat Diablos Tesistán 2–0 to win the Copa Conecta in April 2024, having already topped its group in the 2023–24 Liga Premier Serie A season and taken the Torneo Internacional Premier the year before. Rivalries followed just as fast, with Piratas F.C. and Chapulineros de Oaxaca as its main foes and matches against Montañeses FC billed as the Clásico de Veracruz.

What the club has not yet done is settle. Racing de Veracruz is playing home matches in a different state from the one its name still carries.
