The Sub-20 side carries the same crest and the same nickname, Azulão, though its games are played far from that kind of attention, at the Centro Recreativo Esportivo Fundação, a ground that holds barely 1,000 people against the 16,744 seats at the Anacleto Campanella, where the first team plays.

The club itself, Associação Desportiva São Caetano, was founded in 1989 in São Caetano do Sul, and the Sub-20 exists as part of that structure rather than as a club in its own right, competing in the Campeonato Paulista Sub-20. Its best run there came in 2008, when it reached the final and lost to Santos.

The first team gives the badge more to point to, chiefly a run to the 2002 Copa Libertadores final and a state title two years later, in 2004. None of that changes what the youth side does day to day, working out of a ground a fraction of the size of the one the first team fills. But it explains why, of all the names attached to São Caetano, Rivaldo's is the one people ask about first.
