In 2013 three local men, Hristo Jordanov, Plamen Dedev and Miroslav Denchev, set up a non-profit association to bring it back.

The new team won the B RHG, the second tier, and made its debut in the A RHG for the 2013/2014 season. Jordanov was a long-time national team player and had coached the national side in 2008/2009. He stayed on as the club's manager and still plays.

The club has never won the league or the Bulgarian Handball Cup. Its best results are bronze medals in the A RHG in 2017 and 2019, and third place in the cup in the second of those years. Its main rival in the league is HC Osam Lovech.

The youth academy has done more for Bulgarian handball than the medals have. Todor Kanev was a top scorer and MVP for the national under-20 side. Alex Boychev, Nikolay Ivanov and Radoslav Subev have been called up to the youth national teams. A women's section, often linked with HK Buki, has sent Angelina Pencheva to the national team.

The Chardafontsi, in blue and white, play at Orlovec Hall, a multi-purpose venue with more than 2,000 seats.
