Manisa BB Women — Kuzeyboru Gençlik Spor Women: 3:1, Sultanlar Ligi Women

Manisa defeated Kuzeyboru Gençlik Spor 3:1 in the Sultan's League women's competition on October 11th. The hosts moved off zero points after their opening defeat, while the visitors added another loss to their record despite carrying a point from last week's win.

By then, Manisa had already shown they could respond. Their previous fixtures revealed a team that struggled defensively — three defeats in four games — but against Kuzeyboru they found something different. And here's the thing about these opening matches: the form from pre-season often evaporates quickly, replaced by whatever the players can produce in front of their own supporters.

The result shifts the table slightly, though not dramatically. Manisa sit 14th with their first point, while Kuzeyboru remain ninth but now carry only one point after their opening victory. The gap between them is negligible at this stage, but the momentum has clearly turned.

We had tipped the away side for victory with confidence at 72 percent. That prediction didn't materialise. What broke it was Manisa's willingness to press higher than expected, disrupting Kuzeyboru's rhythm before they could settle into their usual patterns. The visitors looked uncomfortable in the opening exchanges and never quite recovered their composure.

Both teams have now played one match each. Manisa's record reads one defeat and one draw from their last five fixtures before this game, while Kuzeyboru had won two of their previous five. This result suggests both sides are still finding their feet in the new campaign, but the hosts at least managed to seize the initiative when it mattered.
