The bank money that put 3K FC together shows in the name it kept even after the connection lapsed: "The Bankers," a nod to the Kenya Commercial Bank ownership behind the club's early years, though the Embu side has no confirmed tie to the older Kenya Commercial Bank FC in Nairobi, which was founded in 1993.

What is fixed is 2026: 3K finished the National Super League season as runners-up, four points behind champions Migori Youth, and that result sent them up to the FKF Premier League for 2026/2027 — the first time the club has reached Kenyan football's top flight.

They will play there at Moi Stadium, known locally as Embu Stadium.
