Estudiantes 80 – Samora 73
Estudiantes made it to the away court and came back with a 7-point win. The visitors finished 80-73 against Samora in the LEB Oro on Friday evening. To be fair, the gap never looked comfortable at any stage.
Samora sat in tenth place before this one. They'd played 32 games and carried 15 wins alongside 17 defeats. Estudiantes occupied fourth, also at 32 matches, but with 20 victories and 12 losses. The standings haven't shifted yet — neither side has accumulated any points in whatever system they're using.
We'd backed the visitors at 55 per cent confidence. And here's the thing — it came in. Estudiantes simply outscored their hosts across the board, 80 to 73, without needing a decisive run to close it out.
Samora's recent form hasn't been kind. They lost 72-57 to Córdova on September 26th, and before that a narrow 83-76 win over Alicante. They also dropped 90-80 to Oviedo and 89-86 to Estela. One mistake ends it when the margin is this thin.
Estudiantes have been more consistent lately. A 78-65 victory over Caja 87 on September 27th followed a 97-100 loss to Leima Coruña. They beat Oviedo 79-71 and then ran through Alicante twice, 113-72 and 74-67. The away win keeps them in touch with the upper half.
The result leaves Estudiantes fourth and Samora tenth after 32 games each. The visitors have eight more wins than their hosts and haven't drawn a game either. By then, the table will look different — but not today.
