Ceglédi EKK Women

Dóra Medgyessy came home to Cegléd twice — first in 2012, then again from 2015 to 2018. She was one of several imports and returnees who passed through the roster, but the run itself belonged to the whole team: in the 2016–17 season Ceglédi EKK reached the semi-finals of the NB I/A playoffs and beat UNI Győr in the third-place match, then went on to the final of the Magyar Kupa, where UNIQA Sopron beat them 94–64. Neither the league title nor the cup has gone to Cegléd since.

The same season took them into Europe. Coached by László Cziczás, with Kristina Higgins, Renata Brezinova, Ketia Swanier and Ágnes Görjánács on the floor, Ceglédi EKK reached the round of 16 of the EuroCup Women before losing to Good Angels Košice. They matched that run in 2020–21, going out at the same stage to FCBA Charleville-Mézières.

Games are played at the Gál János Sportcsarnok, in front of no more than 1,200 people, in the club's blue and yellow. The nickname, Elefántkölykök — Elephant Calves — has stuck regardless of results.

What draws the crowd now is the meeting with Atomerőmű KSC Szekszárd, a fixture the league itself calls a rangadó, a key match. Sopron Basket is the other name Cegléd measures itself against — the same Sopron that denied them the cup in 2017 and has rarely let them forget it since.
