The DVTK Aréna had been open barely two years when Miskolc's women walked out there in the spring of 2024 and beat Serco Uni Győr to the national title — the first championship the section had actually won. For a club that had spent decades circling the top step without reaching it, that final settled something.

The section grew out of the old multi-sport club Diósgyőri Vasgyárak Testgyakorló Köre, taking the court in the Hungarian championship in September 1946. It has not had a settled existence since: a merger with Dózsa in the 1950s, a split from the parent club in 1992 to become DKSK Miskolc, then dissolution in 2006. It returned in 2011 under the name Miskolci Sportiskola-DKSK and has carried a string of sponsors' names since — Work Force-DVTK, DVTK Hun-Therm, now Aluinvent DVTK Miskolc.

The team plays as the Piros-fehérek, the Red and Whites.

The DVTK Aréna itself holds 3,500 for basketball.
