The hall in Alcantarilla carries the name of Fausto Vicent, the man who gave the club its name in 1960. It seats 1,260. For a club that started playing in 1954 and is regarded as the oldest basketball club in the Region of Murcia, the building is still named after him. The colours are black and yellow, which is why people say El Jairis or simply "aurinegro".

The women's team dates from the 1970s, and the climb was slow. Promotion to the second tier, Liga Femenina 2, came in 2018. The first attempt at the top flight, in 2020-21, ended in the playoffs against Uni Baxi Ferrol. Under Lucas Fernández, the club went up in 2022 after a season without a defeat. The first year in the Liga Femenina Endesa was about staying up, and it did. In 2023-24 the team finished fifth and hosted the Supercopa Femenina at home, though Valencia Basket beat it in the semi-final.

There is no local derby to sharpen the season, because Jairis is the only top-flight women's team in the region. Its main rivals are elsewhere, Perfumerías Avenida and Uni Girona.

Cup football has its own rules, and in 2025 they favoured Alcantarilla. In Zaragoza, Jairis met Perfumerías Avenida in the final of the Queen's Cup (Copa de la Reina). Lou López-Sénéchal scored 27 points, the most in the game. Aina Ayuso, the captain who had arrived from Olympiacos, was named most valuable player of the tournament. Bernat Canut's side held its nerve and took the trophy for the first time, winning 67–59.
