Anna Gómez came up through the Ros Casares academy, and when that club shut down its senior operations in 2012, she stayed in the city while everything around her was rebuilt from scratch. Valencia's women's team formed in 2014 from what was left of Ros Casares' youth and reserve sides, entering competition in the third tier. Gómez joined in 2018, the same year the club reached Liga Femenina Endesa.

The climb did not take long to pay off. In 2021 Valencia beat Umana Reyer Venezia 82–81 to win the EuroCup, then added the FIBA Europe SuperCup against UMMC Ekaterinburg. Queralt Casas, who arrived in 2019 having already won a EuroLeague title with Ros Casares, was named MVP of that EuroCup final. Domestically, the league title followed in 2022–23, with the Copa de la Reina added in 2024 against Casademont Zaragoza and three Supercopa wins, twice at the expense of Perfumerías Avenida.

The team plays as Taronja, after the orange in its colours, and moved into the Roig Arena, which holds 15,600 for basketball — a considerable step up from the Pabellón Fonteta, where the club spent its early seasons. Perfumerías Avenida and Spar Girona remain the sides Valencia measures itself against most often in the league table.

Gómez has stayed through all of it.
