Ensino Women

Ensino Lugo are in the Liga Femenina Endesa, the Spanish women's first division, and have also played in the EuroCup Women. They reached that level by winning Liga Femenina 2 in 2017-18, a title that carried them up a division. At that point the club was still Porta XI Ensino, the name it used from 2005 to 2019. Only in 2019, one season after the promotion, did it become Ensino Lugo Club de Baloncesto, taking the city's name into its own. Durán Maquinaria Ensino, the form the club is also known by, carries a sponsor's name in front.

The club's most visible results are older than any of those names. In 1999 and again in 2002 it reached the final of the Copa de la Reina, the Spanish women's cup, and lost both. Both finals were played under the original name, C.D. Ensino, which the club had carried since its founding in 1980 and kept until 2005. The Copa de la Reina is the one competition where Ensino have twice come within a single game of a title.

The Pazo dos Deportes is where Lugo do their home work. The local rival is Baxi Ferrol (Baxi Universitario Ferrol). Both clubs are from Galicia, which is why their meetings are called the derbi galego .
