Lattes won the French league in 2014 and again in 2016, and in the second of those years took the Coupe de France and the Match des Champions as well. The Coupe de France was the steadier habit: five wins between 2011 and 2021.

Most of that came under one coach. Valéry Demory took charge in 2007, the year the amateur and professional sections were merged, and left in 2017 with two league titles and four cups. He came back in 2021, the year of the club's fifth Coupe de France.

The club began in 1974 as the basketball section of the Foyer Rural de Maurin, set up by the brothers Paul and Bernard Banuls. It merged with Montpellier Basket Club in the 1990s and was renamed Lattes Montpellier Agglomération Basket in 2002. On 1 January 2015, when the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole was created, it took its present name.

The Palais des Sports de Lattes seats 1,400. For the games that matter, the club moves to the Sud de France Arena, which holds about 14,800. The derby against Toulouse Métropole Basket, the Derby d'Occitanie, is one of those fixtures where the table goes out of the window.

In Europe the best result is a final: the EuroCup Women in 2019, lost as runners-up.
