Vigevano

Vigevano is a Lombard city in the province of Pavia. Desio and Cantù are the other opponents it counts as rivals. The team plays in yellow and blue, hence Gialloblu, in the 3,888-seat PalaElachem.

The club began in 1955 as GS Oberdan Vigevano and joined the Italian Basketball Federation (FIP) that October. It rose quickly. In 1961-62 it played in Serie A1, the top flight, and was relegated after one season. It went back up in 1978-79 with the American Clyde Mayes, the Croatian Damir Šolman and the Italian Claudio Malagoli, known as "Lupetto". Malagoli had helped the club win two promotions in 1977 and 1978. The result was the same: one season, then down.

The most recent title came in 2009, when Vigevano beat Latina in the final of the Scudetto Dilettanti, the amateur championship. That win brought promotion to Legadue, the second tier. Financial problems ended the original entity in 2010, and a new company, Nuova Pallacanestro Vigevano 1955, was refounded in 2013.

Promotion to Serie A2 followed in 2018. The club dropped to Serie B in 2025, then won the promotion playoff in 2025-2026 and is back in the second tier for 2026-2027 under head coach Stefano Salieri, with Riccardo Capelli as president. Marino Spaccasassi, vice-president and general manager, was named Serie B Executive of the Year for 2022-2023, the "Gabriele Fioretti" award.

Vigevano has twice reached Serie A1 and has never stayed there for a second season.
