T20 Blast Women (England) 2025/26

The T20 Blast Women (officially the Vitality Blast Women) stands as the premier domestic women's Twenty20 cricket competition in England and Wales. Organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the tournament began its current iteration in 2025. This launch marked the completion of "Project Darwin," a strategic overhaul that shifted the sport from regional hubs to a traditional county-based model. The restructuring replaced the Charlotte Edwards Cup, which operated between 2021 and 2024, positioning the new format at the top tier of the English women's domestic pyramid.

The competition divides into two distinct tiers: League One and League Two. League One comprises nine teams contesting a round-robin group stage of twelve matches each. The highest-performing quartet advances to Finals Day at the Kia Oval in London. This event features two semi-finals followed by a championship final. League Two operates on a separate track with nine teams playing eight matches each. The top three sides from this group progress to a separate Finals Day at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, featuring an eliminator and a deciding final. Promotion pathways exist between the tiers, with clubs such as Yorkshire Women moving up to League One and Glamorgan Women targeted for promotion to Tier 1 in 2027.

Surrey Women hold the inaugural trophy, having defeated Warwickshire Women in the 2025 final at the Kia Oval. The tournament carries significant sponsorship from Vitality. While Southern Vipers remain the most successful entity in the broader history of English domestic women's T20 cricket with four titles, the current structure allows county sides like Durham, Essex, and Hampshire to compete directly under their own banner. The Blaze claimed the final edition of the previous Charlotte Edwards Cup in 2024, but the new era focuses on the county framework established this year.
