Huracán Las Heras play in Torneo Federal A.

The club was formed in Las Heras in 1939 and still plays at the Estadio General San Martín, which holds 8,000. Its badge shows a hot-air balloon, which gave the team its nickname, Los Globos, an odd fit for a club named Hurricane. Supporters go by Lasherinos.

Provincial football is where Huracán Las Heras has done its winning: four Liga Mendocina titles, in 1984, 2006, 2007 and 2011, the last of those years also bringing the Torneo del Interior. In 2016, winning the Cuyo region of the Torneo Federal B opened the door to Federal A for the first time.

The club has stood in the national top flight only once, in the 1985 Torneo Nacional, finishing third in a group behind San Lorenzo and Newell's Old Boys before San Lorenzo eliminated them on penalties; Marcelo Bachino missed three of the spot-kicks.

Copa Argentina has offered two look-ins at the bigger stage. In 2014-15, Huracán Las Heras reached the round of 32 and conceded in the 89th and the 90th to go out 2-0. Three seasons later, Deportivo Maipú ended their run in the round of 16.
