In Mar del Plata's amateur football, no club has topped the Liga Marplatense as often as Kimberley. The green-and-white first took the city title in 1933, then again in 1934 and 1936, and kept coming back across the decades: 1947, 1957, 1962, 1969, 1970, 1978, 1991, and 2022.
The club was founded in 1921 and still turns out in the same green-and-white vertical stripes, paired with black shorts and green socks.
Kimberley's history above city level is shorter but not empty. In 1973 the club won the Torneo Regional and earned a place in that year's national championship. The Torneo del Interior of 2013 brought promotion rights into the Torneo Argentino B. The most recent breakthrough came in the 2023–24 season, when Kimberley beat Costa Bravo in the regional final of the Torneo Regional Federal Amateur and went up into the Torneo Federal A, the third tier of Argentine football, where the club competes now.
Home matches are played at the Estadio José Alberto Valle, which holds 2,000. Crowds there have on occasion included Diego Maradona and the actor Ricardo Darín, drawn in as spectators rather than players.
