Naivas

The team carries the name of the supermarket chain that owns and funds it, and that backing shows less in trophies than in staying power: promotion battles come and go, and Naivas keeps turning up for the next one. In 2021 the club won Zone A of the FKF National Division One with 69 points, enough to go up automatically into the National Super League, where by the 2022/23 season it had settled into a mid-table finish, fifth. Since then the target has been one league higher again, and twice Naivas has got within touching distance of the Premier League only to be turned back in the playoffs — beaten by Sofapaka in 2024 and by Posta Rangers in 2025, both times over two legs, both times by a single goal in it. No major honour has followed either push.

There is no badge of a nickname to hang on the club; what supporters have instead is a slogan, "Kesho Wako" — your tomorrow — which reads less like marketing and more like a working description of a side still waiting for its breakthrough season. A cup run in 2019 ended the way most have against bigger opposition, a 3-2 defeat to Gor Mahia in the preliminary round.

For now the club's story is still tied to that borrowed stadium in Machakos, a ground built for a county rather than for a title chase, with Nairobi and its own unfinished business waiting just up the road.
