Tigres UANL Women

Seven Liga MX Femenil titles sit in the Tigres UANL cabinet, the most recent one taken in Apertura 2025, and three Campeón de Campeonas trophies alongside them. The club's identity was set almost before a ball was kicked: it was founded on 5 December 2016, the same date the Mexican federation announced Liga MX Femenil itself, as the women's branch of the men's Tigres UANL side tied to the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. The first competitive match, a goalless draw away to Querétaro on 29 July 2017, gave no hint of what followed.

Home matches are played at Estadio Universitario, known locally as El Volcán, on the university campus in San Nicolás de los Garza — a ground the women's team does not share with the men's side, who play at Estadio BBVA. It holds around 42,000, and the club takes the same yellow-and-blue colours and the same crest as the men's team.

Katty Martínez built the early scoring record that still stands at the top of the league's all-time charts, with 95 goals in 133 appearances across four seasons before leaving in 2021. Belén Cruz has stayed since 2017, now among the club's most-capped players with over 110 matches and six titles to her name. Stephany Mayor left and returned, and led the team's scoring in Guardianes 2021 and again in Apertura 2021. Lizbeth Ovalle, a first-team player from 2017, became the all-time top scorer of the women's Clásico Regio against Rayados before moving to the NWSL in 2025.

The name most associated with the club's recent profile, though, is Jennifer Hermoso. She joined in 2024 already a World Cup winner with Spain, and her arrival carried a weight in Mexican women's football that went beyond the pitch.
