Toluca Women

Trials for the new squad were held on 13 February 2017. The wait was short: on 3 May 2017 the side won its first competitive match, 2-1 over Monarcas Morelia in the pilot Copa de la Liga MX Femenil, and by late July it had beaten Cruz Azul by the same score in its first Apertura fixture.

Home is the Estadio Nemesio Díez, known locally as La Bombonera, where the men's side has played since 1954 and where 30,000 can fit in the stands. Lesser fixtures sometimes move instead to the training pitches at Metepec.

The senior team still has no Liga MX Femenil or league-cup title to show for it. Semi-finals in Clausura 2018 and Clausura 2026 — the latter campaign also brought a quarter-final — mark the high point so far, alongside fourth place in that original 2017 Copa de la Liga. The younger sides have fared better: the Sub-18 squad took the national Sub-18 championship in Clausura 2023.

Alberto Toril took the coaching job in June 2026, succeeding the Frenchman Patrice Lair, who had led the team to that Clausura 2026 semi-final the season before. Gabriel Velasco held the post from 2021 to 2024, Ricardo Belli through 2024–25, and Juan Carlos Mendoza was there from the founding year itself. Eugénie Le Sommer, signed from Lyon in 2025, finished Clausura 2026 with 18 goals; Amandine Henry arrived in 2024 as captain.

Twelve clubs were asked to found a league in February 2017. Toluca is still one of them.
