León Women

León is a leather and shoemaking city in Guanajuato, the kind of place where the men's club has carried the local identity for decades — the women's side had to build its own foothold inside that shadow. Club León Femenil came into being on 4 May 2017, formed as the women's branch of Club León, and joined the league as one of the founding members of Liga MX Femenil, taking the pitch for the first time in the 2017/18 season.

The team shares its crest and much of its identity with the men's side, including the nickname La Fiera, though it also goes by Las Esmeraldas and Las Verdiblancas — names that point to the dark green and white it wears at home, with a pink-patterned white kit for away games. Matches are played at Estadio León, known locally as the Nou Camp, which holds somewhere north of 31,000 people.

There is no separate club website for the women's team; news runs through the Femenil section of clubleon.mx and through the shared social accounts under the León Femenil name. On the pitch, the club has not yet found a way through to a title. It has reached the Liguilla twice, in Clausura 2019 and Clausura 2024, and both times the run stopped in the quarter-finals — América ended the first attempt, Pachuca the second.
