Atlas Women

Atlas Women are still waiting for a first trophy. Two semi-finals mark the ceiling: Apertura 2021 and Clausura 2022. The second of those ended 9-1 on aggregate against Tigres UANL. Elimination on regular-season standing.

The side came out of the league's founding class in 2017, and played its first match on 29 July that year against Chivas — the fixture that became the Clásico Tapatío and remains the one the Guadalajara calendar is built around.

Estadio Jalisco holds around 55,000, a stadium sized for a different kind of crowd than the women's game usually draws, and the red and black that gave the team its other name, Las Rojinegras, come from the same place the ground does: the men's club, which also owns the website.

The existence of the team was not always secure. In 2019 relegation threatened the men's side, and the women's section would very likely have gone with it.

Maritza Maldonado scored the first goal in the club's history in August 2017 and came back in 2024, which makes her the through-line. But the name that travelled furthest is Alison González, top scorer of Clausura 2021 with 18 goals, rated the third-best under-19 player in the world that year, and gone to América soon after.
