Tlaxcala

The licence of Águilas Reales de Zacatecas merged with Pachuca's reserve team, which had been playing in the third tier.

The ground it moved into, Estadio Tlahuicole , is known locally as the Cueva Coyotes de Tlaxcala — the coyotes' den. After rebuilding work in 2019 it holds 11,135.

The promotion season is the one worth telling. In Apertura 2016 and again in Clausura 2017, Tlaxcala beat Irapuato in the deciding tie of the Segunda División — twice, in consecutive tournaments, against the same opponent. Promotion to Ascenso MX came automatically. A year earlier, in Apertura 2015, the club had reached the final and lost it.

In July 2020 Tlaxcala was invited into the newly formed Liga de Expansión MX, the second tier under its restructured name, and has stayed there since.

The shirt is red with black shorts, often cut with a camouflage pattern; the change kit is white throughout.
