Alebrijes de Oaxaca

Alebrijes de Oaxaca have won the Ascenso MX title twice, and the second one closed a chapter of Mexican football altogether. In Apertura 2019 they beat Atlético Zacatepec 5–3 across two legs, a result that stood as the last champion crowned before the league itself was reorganised. The first came two years earlier, in Apertura 2017, settled on penalties against FC Juárez.

The licence moved to Oaxaca de Juárez instead, and the club was announced on 10 December 2012, playing its first official match the following July. In 2019 the ownership changed hands again: the Grupo Tecamachalco franchise was frozen, and the rights passed to Víctor Sánchez, who had been sitting on a paused licence of his own, Zacatepec Siglo XXI. The new management kept the Alebrijes name, the badge and the colours.

Home games are played at the Estadio Tecnológico de Oaxaca, known locally as the Estadio de los Alebrijes, which holds 17,200. The team was also runner-up in the Copa MX in Clausura 2014, losing 0–3 to Tigres UANL, and finished second in the 2018 Campeón de Ascenso.
