Vaqueros Reynosa

Vaqueros Reynosa go into their first season with nothing behind them but a gap they were built to fill. The club takes its place in Liga Premier Serie A, the third tier of Mexican football, for 2026–2027, stepping into a slot that had belonged to Club Calor until that side pulled out of Reynosa on 1 July 2026 over mismanagement on the local side, heading back to Oaxtepec, Morelos. Reynosa was left without a team in the category, and within weeks a new franchise carrying the city's name was presented, officially unveiled in August 2026.

The city has been here before. Atlético Reynosa held a place in the same league for the best part of a decade before folding into a hiatus and selling its licence on to Tampico Madero, and Vaqueros carries no legal thread back to that side — a fresh start rather than a revival. A separate club, Guerreros Reynosa, plays several tiers below in the amateur system and has no connection to either.

Home games are played at the Estadio de Fútbol del Polideportivo, and the team takes the field in blue and white. The nickname Los Vaqueros — the Cowboys — fits a border city built on ranching, though the badge and colours are the only history the name carries so far.

With no matches played and no honours to speak of, the club's identity for now rests on the search for who will wear the shirt.
