Dragones de Oaxaca

The Estadio Tecnológico de Oaxaca is not a ground built for one tenant. Dragones settled into that arrangement rather than raise a home of their own.

That climb began on September 4, 2018, and it took until the 2020–21 season for the team, under owner Daniel Ortiz Alcaraz, to start playing in the Liga TDP, Mexican football's fourth tier. Their sharpest edge is not against Alebrijes, who have their own derby with Chapulineros, but against Milenarios de Oaxaca, a fixture the city knows as the "duelo de oaxaqueños."

The breakthrough came this year. Dragones topped their Liga TDP group in 2024–25, then beat Estudiantes del COBACH in the regional semi-finals before losing the regional final to Héroes de Zaci — enough, even so, to earn promotion to the Liga Premier Serie B under manager Omar Arellano. Josué Francisco Barragán, a product of the club's own academy, marked the step up in August 2025 by scoring and setting up Dragones' first goal at that level.

No major title sits in the club's history yet. What Dragones have is a shared stadium in Oaxaca de Juárez, a red-and-black shirt, and a division they only just reached.
