Real Refineros

The club exists because its predecessor didn't. Petroleros de Salamanca, a name tied to the city since 1958 and to spells in the old Primera División 'A', folded in June 2025 under financial strain. Real Refineros was registered a year later, on 27 July 2026, to keep senior football alive in the city, and now plays in the Liga Premier Serie A, the third tier of the Mexican pyramid.

There are no honours yet; a first season leaves no room for any.

Salamanca's teams have long measured themselves against Celaya, León and Irapuato in what the Bajío region calls its own clásico, though no fixture on the calendar belongs to Real Refineros alone — the rivalry is inherited, not yet earned. For now the task is simpler: establish itself in the third tier.
