Muik Hockey

Muik Hockey opened the current campaign in the Suomi-sarja, Finland's third tier, a division it reached only after climbing out of the II-divisioona in 2013–14. The club's best recent run came in the Suomen Cup, where it went all the way to the final in 2021–22.

The team traces back to Munsala IK, formed in the village of Munsala in 1984, when players trained on natural ice at Hirvlax. The move into Nykarleby's centre in the mid-1990s brought access to artificial ice and a new name, Muik Hockey, taken from muikku, the vendace that has long been fished in local waters.

Home games are played at Komarov Arena, renamed in 2011 for Leo Komarov, who started out in the club's junior ranks before moving on to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the New York Islanders and Dynamo Moscow, and lifted World Championship gold with Finland in 2011. His father, Alexander Komarov, also turned out for the club.

On the scoresheet, the club's own history belongs to Artem Gornostajev. Games against NIK carry the weight of the Nykarleby derby.

Komarov Arena holds 450.
