Migori Youth

Migori Stadium sits in Migori town in Migori County. Works to bring it to a 10,000-seat capacity are still under way, with plans to push that further to 16,000 once the job is done. Migori Youth play there regardless, in yellow and black, a club that has been part of the town since 1982.

What changed this year is the football. In the 2022/23 season Migori Youth finished third in the National Super League and lost the promotion playoff to Wazito FC. In 2025/26 they did not need a playoff. A 1-0 win over Kisumu All Stars left them needing just one more victory to be crowned champions, and the club secured promotion to the FKF Premier League for 2026/27. Head coach Sammy Otulo, who had previously worked with Shabana FC, led the campaign, while Syphas Otieno finished as the division's top scorer with 20 goals.

The club has also had to rebuild around absence: Tyson Otieno, Godfrey Onyango and Michael Okumu, all key players in past seasons, left to join the Kenya Defence Forces. That the squad promoted anyway owes something to local backing — Governor Dr Ochilo Ayacko and MP Mark Nyamita have both put weight behind the youth development the club leans on for replacements.

None of that changes what Migori Stadium is for now: a ground still being built up around a team that has just earned the right to fill more of it.
