Major Clubs T20 Tournament (Sierra Leone) 2023/24

The Major Clubs T20 Tournament stands as the premier domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Sri Lanka. Established by Sri Lanka Cricket in 2022, it operates as a distinct entity from the commercial Lanka Premier League, which utilises city-based franchises. Instead, this tournament showcases traditional, community-affiliated clubs, including Nondescripts Cricket Club, Moors Sports Club, and Colts Cricket Club.

The structure typically involves fourteen teams separated into two groups of seven. A round-robin stage leads to knockout quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. The inaugural edition in 2022 was claimed by Sri Lanka Army Sports Club after they defeated Colts Cricket Club in the final match. However, historical records regarding the most successful team show some variance. Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club is often cited as holding the record for the most titles, with victories in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons, although the dating of the 2021/22 event is sometimes conflated with the official 2022 inaugural tournament.

Recent outcomes highlight various contenders. Sinhalese Sports Club won the 2023/24 season, while Nondescripts Cricket Club took the crown in 2024. The 2023 final ended without a result, leading to the trophy being shared between Nondescripts and Colts. Colombo Cricket Club secured victory in the 2025 season.

There is no formal promotion or relegation system linking this tournament to lower-tier club competitions. Participation relies entirely on club status rather than performance-based movement. Furthermore, the tournament does not carry a commercial title sponsor in the same manner as the LPL. It is generally referred to simply as the SLC Major Clubs T20 Tournament.
