M. Vedrani Bezerra broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, and it proved to be enough. By then Grêmio Anapolense had already established a rhythm, and the visitors could not find a response before the interval.
To be fair, the statistics tell a different story. Mineros enjoyed 60 per cent possession and registered 96 attacks compared with 79, while Grêmio Anapolense managed only 40 per cent of the ball.

For the hosts, this result follows a difficult run. They lost 2-0 to Bom Jesus on 16 August, drew 1-1 with Tupi, then beat Trindade 3-0 before suffering defeats to Rio Verde and Goiânia.
Mineros have been steadier but not spectacular. Their recent results include a 1-1 draw with Tupi, a 1-2 loss to Rio Verde, and a string of draws against Goyanésia and Trindade, punctuated by defeats to Morrinhos and others.
