ADR Jicaral

Football arrived late to Jicaral. The village had already had a team once, El Huracán, which played in the third division through the 1960s and 1970s. Locals had that earlier effort in mind when they set up ADR Jicaral, formally Jicaral Sercoba de la Península S.A.D., on 12 May 2007.

The club settled into the Liga de Ascenso, Costa Rica's second tier, and built its home matches around the Estadio de la Asociación Cívica Jicaraleña, with a natural grass pitch. Two playoff finals for promotion ended in defeat before the third attempt succeeded: in the 2018/19 season, under coach Jeaustin Campos, Jicaral won promotion to the Primera División, the first time a club from the village had reached the Costa Rican top flight.

The stadium that hosts it all holds 1,500 people.
