Caio Vidal came through the futsal side in 2018 and left for Internacional; Erick Pulga spent 2016 to 2018 in the youth setup before going on to top the scoring charts in Série B with Ceará.

The senior team caught up late. A shootout defeat to Guarani de Juazeiro left the club runner-up in the Campeonato Cearense Série C in 2021. Three years later it beat Maranguape 3–0 in the Série B final and went up, reaching the top flight of the state championship for 2025 under Fabiano Soares.

The most consequential change was not on the pitch. The club became the first in Ceará to convert to the Sociedade Anônima do Futebol model.

Home is the Vila Olímpica Elzir Cabral, 4,200 capacity, with the Presidente Vargas hired when a fixture demands more than that. The academy has not stopped delivering: the under-20s beat Fortaleza 6–5 on penalties for the state title in 2022 and reached the last sixteen of the Copa do Brasil Sub-20 the following year, where Bahia put them out.
