The under-20 team was where that project first paid off, taking the Campeonato Cearense Sub-20 in 2007, three years after the club itself was formed in April 2004.

The senior team followed at its own pace, working through the lower rungs of the Cearense pyramid — the third division in 2009, the second in 2019 — before reaching a Cearense final in 2022, where it finished runner-up. In between came a run of regional cups: the Taça Fares Lopes and Taça Valdemar Caracas, both in 2019, and the Taça Padre Cícero in 2022. None of it carries the weight of a state title, but it gave Caucaia, nicknamed Raposa, a shelf of silverware that a club its size does not always collect.

Two forwards carry the club's attacking reputation. Ciel remains its all-time top scorer, while Magno Alves, a striker with a name well known across Ceará football, joined in the 2020–21 seasons well past the age when most careers wind down, lending the squad a senior presence during that Cearense run. The pattern fits a club that has tended to sign proven players rather than promote from within.

Home games are played in front of 7,800 at the Raimundão, and the fiercest fixtures come against Fortaleza and against Maracanã, the other side from the same municipality. Off the pitch, the women's team has done the heavier lifting, winning the Campeonato Cearense Feminino six times between 2008 and 2015 — a record the men's side, still without a state championship of its own, has yet to match.
