Batman Petrosport kept their perfect record intact at the top of the 1. Lig table, seeing off Boluspor 2:0 in the second round of the regular season at the 16 Mayis Şehir Stadyumu on Sunday evening. The home side took control early and never looked back, extending their unbeaten run to five matches.
Pedrinho settled the matter in the 34th minute, converting a penalty to give the hosts a deserved lead before the break. By then, the visitors had already shown they were struggling to find any rhythm, with their only real threat coming from sporadic long balls that rarely found their target. The home side pressed high up the pitch and kept Boluspor in their own half for large stretches.
A second goal came late, with M. Biron finding the net in the 90th minute to close out the result. The match was never really in doubt after the first half, though Boluspor managed to create a few chances through individual effort. Pedrinho was taken off at the hour mark, replaced by Benny, while the home side made several other changes to see out the game.
The statistics tell the story clearly enough. Batman Petrosport dominated possession at 59 per cent and registered 17 shots, ten on target, while Boluspor managed just eight attempts with four on goal. The home side completed 313 passes against 189 for the visitors, and their shots accuracy of 20 per cent compared to 36 per cent for the away team shows the difference in quality of chances created.
What matters more than the numbers is what this result means for both sides. Batman Petrosport sit top of the table with 13 points from five games, four wins and one draw. Boluspor remain at the bottom with zero points from six matches, winless and without a single point to show for their efforts so far this season.
