Charlottetown Islanders — Drummondville Voltigeurs: 5:1, QMJHL

Charlottetown Islanders defeated Drummondville Voltigeurs 4:1 in a QMJHL match on 2026-10-09. The home side took all three points at their own rink, extending a run of matches where they have struggled to find consistency away from home.

Both teams entered the fixture with mixed recent results. Charlottetown had played five games before this match, registering one victory alongside four defeats. Drummondville had faced six opponents, winning twice but also suffering four losses along the way.

The visitors arrived after a 4:3 victory over Moncton Wildcats on 2026-10-08, a result that followed a 3:2 win against Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Their form had been uneven, with heavy defeats to Val-d'Or Foreurs and Rouyn-Noranda Huskies interrupting the positive run.

Charlottetown's last five matches showed a pattern of high-scoring encounters. They lost 5:8 to Rimouski Océanic on 2026-10-04, but had beaten Baie-Comeau Drakkar 6:3 and Chicoutimi Saguenéens 5:4 in the games before that. A 5:6 defeat to Victoriaville Tigres and a 3:4 loss to Moncton rounded out their recent campaign.

The result leaves Charlottetown in ninth place on the table with five games played, while Drummondville remain sixth after six matches. Both sides carry zero points in the standings, reflecting the difficulty both clubs have faced this season.
