MODO Hockey Women — Djurgården W: 2:5, SDHL Women

Modo hosted Djurgården in the SDHL on Thursday evening and the visitors left with a 2:5 win. The result cuts through what had looked like a steady run for the home side.

And here's the thing — Modo have been working the channels of recent form. They beat Löwen 4-0 and Frölunda 4-1 before losing 2-4 to Skellefteå AIK. Djurgården, by then, had picked up just one win in three games.

The scoreboard tells a different story. Three goals from the hosts were swallowed by five from the visitors, and it wasn't a game that needed much explaining once the pattern emerged.

We had given Modo a 48 per cent chance at home. To be fair, the prediction didn't survive the first period. Djurgården took the game away early and never looked back.

The table stays quiet — both sides carry zero points after four and three matches respectively. What matters now is the gap that opened up between expectation and reality.
