Joël Bouchard signed off on the deal himself in 2011 after the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League approved the franchise's sale to his group. The team he built had already crossed the province once, arriving from Montreal, where it had played since 2008, and before that from St. John's. On July 12, 2011, Bouchard's group unveiled the new name and the black-and-white colours that have stayed with the Armada since.

Bouchard ran the bench in Boisbriand until 2018, and his best season there, 2016–17, swept the league's individual honours: Francis Leclerc took the goaltending trophy, Bouchard himself collected both the general manager's and coach's awards, and Alexandre Alain was named the league's top scholastic player. The Armada reached the President's Cup final twice under that run of form, in 2017 and 2018, and lost both, first to the Saint John Sea Dogs, then to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

The club has never lifted the championship itself, though the 2022–23 side topped the regular season and took the Jean Rougeau Trophy for it. That same year brought new money into the ownership group — Groupe Cholab, Belimmo and Groupe Gendron 3.0 joined, with Jean-François Trudeau installed as president.

Alexandre Jacques now runs the bench, and the pipeline he inherited is still producing: defenceman Olivier Picard was named the league's top defensive rookie last season, one more name added to a list of Boisbriand products that has already reached the NHL through players like Drake Batherson and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
