Ravenna

Cesena, Rimini and Forlì all sit within an hour of the Adriatic coast road. Cesena is the fixture with the longest history behind it; Forlì is the one that has turned sour most recently.

What became Ravenna started in 1913 as the football section of a local sports club, Unione Sportiva Ravennate, before breaking away on its own in 1928. That pattern — merge, rename, start again — repeated for a century. Ravenna Calcio after the collapse of 2001, and then bankruptcy declared by the Ravenna court in June 2012, which sent the successor club back down to the amateur divisions with 1913 written into its name.

The stretch that supporters still measure everything against ran from 1992 to 1996: Serie C2 won under Luigi Del Neri, then Serie C1 the following season under Francesco Guidolin, which took Ravenna into Serie B for the first time. Christian Vieri played 32 games and scored 12 in 1993–94, on his way elsewhere. Stefan Schwoch's 21 goals in 1995–96 brought the club back up after a first relegation.

Andrea Mandorlini is the local thread through it: born in Ravenna, raised in the academy, back as an assistant between 1994 and 1998 before returning to take the job himself.

The Stadio Bruno Benelli holds 12,020. Recent business has been done further down the pyramid — the Coppa Italia Dilettanti won in 2025, Guidonia beaten in the final — and in 2026 the club signed Ronaldinho as player and shareholder. Forlì, meanwhile, remain the visitors the away end never stops for.
