Monarcas claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Mineros de Zacatecas in the eighth round of the Liga de Expansión MX Apertura on Saturday night. The result keeps the visitors top of the table while Mineros remain ninth with eleven points from eight games. To be fair, the match rarely threatened to be anything other than a tight affair between sides who knew better than to overextend.
