Monterrey Women beat Querétaro 4-0 in the fifth round of Liga MX's women's competition on 29 August. The visitors scored through V. del Campo at 17, L. Garcia from the penalty spot at 23, M. Restrepo at 50 and F. Servin at 53. Querétaro saw S. Martinez and M. Jimenez sent off in the second half.
Monterrey opened the scoring early and extended their lead before half-time. Garcia's penalty came after Querétaro's defence got dragged out of position, and by then the visitors had already made their intentions clear. The hosts' first real chance to respond never materialised.
After the interval, Monterrey doubled their advantage. Restrepo's goal at 50 followed a period of sustained pressure, and Servin added a fourth just three minutes later. Querétaro lost Martinez at 62 and Jimenez in stoppage time, which changed the shape of the game entirely.
Both sides registered half the possession, but the shots tell a different story. Monterrey hit 11 on target from 23 attempts, while Querétaro managed five from twelve. The hosts had more attacks overall, yet fancy their chances of turning that into goals only if they improve their finishing.
The result moves Monterrey further clear in fourth place with 12 points from five games. Querétaro remain bottom with three points, after four defeats and one win. The visitors have hit a wall recently, losing 5-0 to Pumas UNAM in their last outing.
