Libereado Asunción saw off Orense 3-0 in the Lliga Pro Regular Season on Friday evening. The hosts moved clear at home with goals from V. Branda, A. Chere and G. J. Cortez Casierra. It was a straightforward afternoon for the seventh-placed side, who had not won since their last fixture before this one.
Branda opened the scoring in the 38th minute, and the visitors struggled to contain him. Chere doubled the advantage just before the break, slotting in during the first minute of stoppage time. By then, Orense had been chasing shadows for most of the half and could not find a rhythm against the home defence.
Cortez Casierra completed the tally in the 82nd minute. The game had been settled long before that, but he added a third to put the result beyond doubt. Chere was substituted in the 60th minute shortly after his goal, and Valencia came on for the hosts in the 81st minute as they managed the closing stages.
Orense held 61 per cent possession but created nothing of note. They registered 130 attacks yet managed zero big chances and only one shot on target. Libereado Asunción, with 39 per cent possession, produced five big chances and five shots on target. To be fair, their efficiency told the real story of the match.
The result moves Libereado Asunción further from the relegation zone while Orense remain 13th with 33 points. The hosts now extend their unbeaten run with this victory, having lost just once in their last five matches. The gap between seventh and thirteenth stays at eight points after 29 games played by both sides.
