Match report
Deportes Limache defeated Nublense 2:0 at the Estadio Municipal Lucio Farina Fernandez on Wednesday evening in round 17 of the Primera División. The hosts earned their second win in succession, closing out a match that had promised more end-to-end action than it delivered. By then the result felt inevitable, though not before a VAR intervention at the hour mark kept visitors alive with a penalty appeal cancelled.
Daniel Castro gave Deportes Limache the lead in the 49th minute, finishing from what the statistics suggest was a measured attack. The visitors had managed 52 per cent possession but could not convert their dominance into chances — only four shots on target compared to nine for the hosts. The second goal arrived late, an 86th-minute own goal from Osvaldo Bosso, who had already collected a yellow card in the opening minute.
Substitutions came thick and fast from both benches. Nublense brought on Ignacio Jeraldino and Lucas Molina Canto together in the 60th minute, while Deportes Limache responded by introducing three players within ten minutes of each other. The tactical shift was visible in the numbers: home side registered 112 attacks against 94 for the visitors, and their shot accuracy of 60 per cent told a different story to the visitors' 31 per cent.
Deportes Limache move to seventh place with 21 points from 21 games, while Nublense remain in sixth with 22. The gap is narrow, but the momentum has shifted. Visitors had drawn five of their last six matches before this result, and now that run comes to an end.
