Pendikspor and Batman Petrolspor played out a 2:2 draw in the opening match of the 1. Liga regular season on 10 August. Batman Petrolspor took an early lead when Sergio Córdova found the net in the 32nd minute following a penalty he had initially missed. The hosts responded through Rogerio Thuram in the 54th minute before Omar Imeri restored the visitors' advantage in the 81st minute.
Mesut Özdemir headed in a late equaliser in the 99th minute, and the points were shared. To be fair, Pendikspor had to weather a storm after Metehan Mert was sent off in the 84th minute. The away side were reduced to ten for the final six minutes, but they refused to go away.
